My thesis examines the relationship between maternal empathy and child empathy. Specifically, I am assessing two constructs of empathy- positive and negative empathy- utilizing two different method of simulation to elicit a behavioral reaction in one year old infants. The goal of the study is to determine whether maternal positive and negative empathy can predict a child's positive and negative empathy.
